Sudanese Cultural Festival at Suwaidi Park Brings Vibrancy to Riyadh Season
Riyadh, Nov 8, 2024 — The Sudanese Cultural Festival at Suwaidi Park is offering a colorful showcase of Sudanese music, dance, food, and crafts, as part of Riyadh Season. Running until November 17, the festival invites visitors to dive into Sudan’s rich heritage and traditions.
Hamoud Waleed, a popular content creator, shared that cultural festivals like this help bring people together and promote understanding. “It’s a chance to experience a culture we might not otherwise see, and it helps us understand how others live and what they care about,” he said.
The festival is especially significant in Saudi Arabia, where Sudanese people make up a large part of the population. It helps build stronger ties and mutual respect between different communities in the Kingdom.
Sudanese singer Youssef Khairy, who performed at the event, spoke about the power of music to unite people. “Music connects us all, no matter where we come from,” he said, adding that he was proud to represent Sudan’s Nubian heritage.
Visitors enjoyed live performances, traditional dances, and hands-on activities for children. For many, the lively atmosphere and authentic experience stood out. Sudanese designer Hiam Othman also noted how the festival has helped promote her business, saying her products, which showcase Sudanese culture, have been well-received.
Riyadh Season 2024 has already welcomed over 4 million visitors, showing a growing interest in cultural events. The Sudanese festival is part of Saudi Arabia’s Global Harmony initiative, which celebrates the Kingdom’s diverse cultures. After Sudan, upcoming festivals will highlight Jordanian, Lebanese, Syrian, Bangladeshi, and Egyptian cultures in the coming weeks.
The initiative, launched on October 17, promotes greater cultural exchange and understanding across Saudi Arabia.
