Tosha Khana gifts available for sale to officials, bureaucracy, judiciary, and public

The Cabinet Division has initiated a process to estimate the value of gifts received in the Tosha Khana, inviting bids from private estimators until September 30.

The successful bidders will be tasked with assessing the value of various categories of gifts, including jewelry, watches, carpets, and other items. The Cabinet Division will contract with the selected appraisers, who will receive payment based on a predetermined formula.

To ensure transparency, the Cabinet Division has established qualification criteria for appraisers, including marks for their expertise. The Tosha Khana, a state-owned repository, stores gifts received by government officials, bureaucrats, military personnel, and judges of the higher judiciary. Unsold gifts are auctioned off to the public.

As per government policy, all received gifts must be reported and deposited in the register. This development aims to bring greater accountability and transparency to the management of Tosha Khana gifts.
