Bangladesh Stuns Pakistan with Historic Whitewash
n a stunning upset, Bangladesh has defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the two-match Test series, marking their first-ever whitewash over their hosts. The visitors secured a thrilling win on the final day of the second Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, chasing down a target of 185 runs with ease.
Captain Najmul Hasan Shanto led the charge with 38 runs, while Mominul Haq contributed 34 runs. The match-winning partnership was forged by Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakibul Hasan, who added 32 runs to seal the victory. Pakistan’s bowlers, including Mir Hamza, Abrar Ahmed, Salman Ali Agha, and Khurram Shehzad, managed to take only one wicket each.
Earlier, Pakistan’s second innings ended in disaster, with the team being bowled out for just 172 runs. The visiting team’s batsmen, led by Liton Das, who was declared the Man of the Match, and Mehdi Hasan, the Man of the Series, proved too strong for the hosts.
The series defeat marks a dismal run for Pakistan under captain Shan Masood, who has now lost all five Tests under his leadership.
