World’s Oldest Newlywed Couple Breaks Guinness World Record in Philadelphia

In a heartwarming story of love and longevity, 100-year-old Bernie Lytman and 102-year-old Marjorie Fiterman, residents of a senior living home in Philadelphia, have set the record for the oldest married couple, earning a place in the Guinness World Records.

Guinness World Records officially confirmed the couple’s achievement as the oldest pair to marry, after they tied the knot on May 19 of this year.

Bernie Lytman and Marjorie Fiterman met at a costume party within the senior living home where they both resided. They later discovered that they had attended the University of Pennsylvania during the same time but had never met as students.

Lytman’s granddaughter, Sarah Sherman, told the Jewish Chronicle that the couple considers themselves fortunate to have found each other. During the global pandemic, they supported one another through difficult times. Sarah added that both had spent 60 years in marriage with their previous spouses before finding love again at over 100 years of age.
