West Indies’ Alzarri Joseph Walks Off Field After Disagreement with Captain

BRIDGETOWN: West Indies coach Daren Sammy has criticized fast bowler Alzarri Joseph for walking off the field during the third ODI against England, calling his behavior “unacceptable.”

The incident happened when Joseph argued with captain Shai Hope over field placements. After taking a wicket, Joseph didn’t celebrate with his team and walked off the field without warning, leaving West Indies with only 10 players for a short time.

Sammy spoke out after the match, saying, “That kind of behavior is not acceptable on my team. We will have a talk about it.”

Joseph returned to the field later, but only bowled again after a long delay. He finished with 2 wickets for 45 runs from 10 overs.

Despite the incident, West Indies won the series 2-1. Sammy also hinted that senior players like Nicholas Pooran and Akeal Hosein might return for the upcoming T20 series against England, which starts on Saturday.
