US Indicts Indian RAW Agent Vikash Yadav Over Conspiracy to Kill Pro-Khalistan Leader Pannu
Washington, October 18 – The US Department of Justice has indicted Vikash Yadav, an officer of India’s intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), on charges related to a failed plot to assassinate Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the leader of Sikhs for Justice and an advocate for the Khalistan movement.
According to reports from Indian media, Vikash Yadav, identified by the code name ‘CC One,’ is accused of conspiring to kill Pannu in New York last year. Pannu has been a prominent figure in the Khalistan movement, which seeks a separate Sikh state, making him a target for Indian authorities.
In addition to the charges of conspiracy to commit murder, Yadav also faces charges of money laundering, further deepening the legal implications of the case. The indictment by the US comes amidst rising tensions between pro-Khalistan activists and Indian authorities, as Pannu remains a vocal critic of the Indian government’s policies towards Sikhs.
The case is likely to have diplomatic and legal ramifications, as it involves both US and Indian officials, with more details expected to emerge as the investigation unfolds.
