UN Aid Convoy Robbed Near Israeli Military Positions, Worsening Gaza Crisis
A UN aid convoy carrying essential supplies for Gaza was looted on Saturday night, with 97 out of 109 trucks intercepted and robbed near the Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing, visible from Israeli military positions.
The convoy, which included aid from multiple UN agencies, was attacked by armed men in what the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) called a result of a “total breakdown of civil order.” This robbery has intensified the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip, already under siege, further complicating efforts to provide relief to civilians amidst ongoing conflict.
