Tragedy Strikes in Rahim Yar Khan: 12 Policemen Martyred, 8 Injured in Robber Attack

A devastating incident occurred in the Machchka area of Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab, where 12 policemen were killed and 8 injured in a brutal attack by robbers. The officers were returning from their weekly vacation when their vehicles became stuck in the mud due to heavy rainfall. The robbers seized the opportunity, surrounding and attacking the policemen.

The police spokesperson confirmed that a heavy contingent of police rushed to the scene, shifting the injured and martyred personnel to nearby hospitals. The post-mortem of the 12 martyred officers is being conducted at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, while the 8 injured officers have been transferred to Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan.

The identities of the martyred officers have been revealed, including Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Sajid, Raja Kanwal, and Muhammad Munir, all of whom hailed from different areas of Punjab. The officers were posted at various locations, including Camp Two Machchka, Elite Force, and Langri.

Punjab IG Dr. Usman Anwar, along with top leadership, has arrived in Rahim Yar Khan to visit the injured personnel and participate in the funeral prayers of the martyred officers.

This incident has sent shockwaves throughout the province, and an investigation is underway to apprehend the perpetrators.
