“Ten Athletes Set to Walk 1,000 Kilometers Across Abu Dhabi Desert for Environmental Awareness”

Challenge begins November 2, coinciding with UAE National Day.

Ten athletes, including UAE jiu-jitsu champion Faisal Al Ketbi and adventurer Khalifa Al Mazrouei, will walk 1,000 kilometers across the Abu Dhabi desert in 30 days to raise awareness for the environment.

The event, called Walk1000, starts on November 2 in Al Sila’a and ends at the Zayed Heritage Festival in Al Wathba, coinciding with UAE National Day.

The walk will pass by historic sites and natural reserves, including Umm Hosn Fort and Al Ain Oasis, promoting both environmental conservation and cultural heritage. Khalifa Al Mazrouei looks forward to documenting wildlife, especially the sand cat, during the journey.
