Suicide Bombing Outside Bank Kills Five, Including Taliban Security Forces
Kunduz, Afghanistan, February 11, 2025 –A suicide bombing outside a bank in northern Afghanistan’s Kunduz city on Tuesday claimed the lives of five people, including members of the Taliban security forces. The blast also left seven others wounded, as it targeted a crowd of individuals waiting to collect their salaries at a local bank in the capital of Kunduz province.
According to police spokesman Jumadin Khaksar, the attacker, who was carrying improvised explosive devices, detonated himself near the bank, killing civilians, civil servants, and Taliban security personnel.
“The Kunduz Province Police Command is working with relevant organizations to find the perpetrators of the incident and bring them to justice,” Khaksar confirmed.
The attack has shocked the city, and authorities have pledged to track down those responsible for this deadly assault. The region, which has experienced rising security challenges, remains on high alert as investigations continue.
