Sindh Reports Over 2,500 HIV/AIDS Cases from January to October 2023

Pakistan: In Sindh, 2,531 new HIV/AIDS cases have been reported from January to October this year. The affected individuals include 1,313 men, 615 women, and 227 transgender people.

Additionally, 220 boys and 156 girls have also been diagnosed with the virus. Tragically, 135 individuals have died from HIV/AIDS in Sindh this year, including 78 men, 20 women, 2 transgender people, 11 boys, and 24 girls.

From January to December 2023, 3,045 new HIV cases and 277 deaths were reported across Sindh.

Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, since 2005, a total of 6,966 HIV cases have been reported.

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) attacks the body’s immune system, and if left untreated, can lead to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), the final stage of the disease.
