Seven Pakistani nationals have been confirmed among the victims of a tragic boat accident off the coast of Libya, with immigration sources revealing their travel details. These individuals were originally headed to Arab countries when their journey turned fatal.
According to immigration authorities, the seven Pakistanis who perished in the incident were traveling from various cities across Pakistan. Among them was Shoaib Hussain, who departed from the Taftan border to Iran on January 10, 2025. The others included:
- Thaqleen Haider, who flew from Karachi to Saudi Arabia on February 9, 2024
- Abid Hussain, who left Quetta for Egypt on November 25, 2024
- Sirajuddin, who traveled from Peshawar to Saudi Arabia on December 31, 2022
- Syed Shahzad Hussain, who journeyed from Islamabad to Saudi Arabia
- Shoaib Ali, who departed from Faisalabad for Saudi Arabia on November 19, 2024
- Musarrat Hussain, who flew from Quetta to the UAE on September 20, 2024
Efforts are underway to gather more information about how these travelers ended up aboard the ill-fated boat and the specifics of their journey. Tragically, the boat accident has claimed the lives of 63 Pakistani nationals, with many more feared dead, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
