Security Forces Kill 22 Militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Operations; 6 Soldiers Martyred
Pakistan, December 7, 2024 – In a series of separate operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces have killed 22 militants while six soldiers have embraced martyrdom during intense gunfights. The operations were conducted by the Pakistan Army over December 6 and 7, 2024, across various regions of the province.
According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces carried out three separate operations based on intelligence reports. In the first operation, which took place in the Gul Imam area of Tank district, the forces effectively targeted a militant hideout. As a result, 9 militants were killed and 6 others were captured, though they had sustained injuries during the operation.
The second operation occurred in North Waziristan, where security forces killed 10 militants. The third encounter took place in the Thal district when militants attempted to attack a security post. During the exchange of fire, 3 militants were killed, while 6 soldiers sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The ISPR further stated that clearance operations in the area are ongoing to eliminate any remaining terrorists, reaffirming the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces in the fight against terrorism. The sacrifices made by the brave soldiers continue to strengthen the nation’s resolve to eradicate terrorism from the region.
The tragic loss of life among the security forces has further reinforced Pakistan’s determination to protect its citizens and maintain peace in the region.
