Second Monkey pox Case Confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Director of Public Health, Dr. Irshad Roghani, has confirmed the second case of monkey pox in the province. The number of monkey pox patients in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has increased to two this year. According to the details, monkey pox has been confirmed in a 47-year-old man from Nowshera. Dr. Irshad Roghani stated that the patient, who was traveling from Dubai to Peshawar, was screened by a team at the airport and promptly transferred to the Police Services Hospital for isolation. A detailed medical history was taken, and a sample was sent to the Public Health Reference Lab. Dr. Roghani added that the Khyber Medical University reference lab confirmed monkey pox in the patient through PCR, and the samples have been sent to the National Institute of Health in Islamabad for further analysis.
