PCB Chief Optimistic About Champions Trophy Despite India’s Travel Concerns
Lahore – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi remains hopeful about hosting the Champions Trophy in February 2025, despite uncertainty over India’s participation. The PCB has yet to receive a response from the International Cricket Council (ICC) about India’s stance on traveling to Pakistan.
Naqvi confirmed that the PCB had written to the ICC asking for clarity on India’s decision not to travel, but he insisted that the tournament will go ahead as planned. He also rejected the idea of a hybrid model, where India would play its matches at a neutral venue, and called for direct talks with the BCCI to address any concerns.
Naqvi emphasized that all other teams are ready to come, and that Pakistan’s pride in hosting the event is a priority.
