PCB BOARD OF GOVERNORS PROPOSES TAKEOVER OF FAISALABAD’S IQBAL STADIUM

The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Board of Governors (BoG) has recommended that the PCB assume complete control of Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium during its 74th meeting, chaired by Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. The proposal aims to upgrade the stadium to international standards, ensuring a world-class facility for cricket events.

The BoG also commended Chairman Naqvi’s efforts in securing partnerships with esteemed organizations for the Champions One-Day Cup, currently underway at the Iqbal Stadium. The tournament features Pakistan’s top cricketers, and the BoG proposed incorporating the Champions Cup, including T20 and four-day formats, into the PCB Constitution 2014. This move would establish the Champions Cup as an annual event, bringing continuity, consistency, and clarity to Pakistan’s domestic cricket pathway structure.
