Palestinian Official Calls for Global Action to Stop Israeli Settler Violence in West Bank
Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesperson for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, has called for a global response to the escalating violence by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank. Speaking to the Wafa news agency, Abu Rudeineh specifically referred to the recent attacks in the village of Beit Furik, located east of Nablus, where settlers attacked Palestinian homes and set fire to several agricultural farms.
Abu Rudeineh emphasized that this rise in settler violence, along with the ongoing situation in Gaza, requires urgent international intervention. He accused Israel of committing “genocide” in Gaza, which, he said, further underscores the need for global action to end the violence.
He also held the United States responsible for Israel’s actions, claiming that U.S. support—through financial aid, weapons, and political cover—has allowed Israel to persist in defying international law.
“Our people will remain steadfast in the face of the occupation and its crimes,” Abu Rudeineh said, vowing to confront Israeli aggression while holding onto their land, holy sites, and rights. He stressed that Israeli terrorism, supported by the occupation army and settlers, along with U.S. backing, would not bring security or stability to the region.
