Pakistani Twins Reborn: Historic Separation Surgery in Turkey
Ankara, Turkey – In an extraordinary medical feat, 11-month-old Pakistani twins Mirha and Minal, born with their heads fused, have been successfully separated by a team of 60 medical experts in Turkey.
MARATHON SURGERY
The complex, two-phase operation lasted 14 hours at Bilkent City Hospital, led by renowned pediatric neurosurgeon Owase Jeelani and Turkish physicians Harun Demirci and Hasan Murat Ergani.
PRESIDENTIAL INTERVENTION
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan personally intervened, offering medical assistance after the family struggled to find treatment in Pakistan.
MEDICAL TRIUMPH
“The babies are now doing very well, starting to use their hands and arms, and gaining head control,” said Namik Yasar Ozbek, Head of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.
JOY AND GRATITUDE
“The entire medical team applauded when we successfully separated them,” said Dr. Ergani. The twins’ parents, Rehan Ali and Nazia Parveen, expressed heartfelt thanks to President Erdogan, the medical team, and all involved.
