Pakistan Unveils Hajj Policy for 2025
Islamabad, Nov 11 – The Federal Government has officially announced the Hajj Policy for 2025, setting out important details for Pakistani pilgrims planning to perform Hajj next year. The policy includes new eligibility criteria, a revised payment system, and compensation plans for pilgrims or their families in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Key Updates from the Hajj Policy 2025:
- Quota Split: The Hajj quota will be divided equally between the government and private schemes, each receiving 50% of the total quota.
- Age Restriction: Children under 12 years old will not be allowed to perform Hajj this year.
- Compensation: In the event of a pilgrim’s death, their family will receive Rs 2 million in compensation. Injured pilgrims will also be compensated.
New Payment System:
- Hajj fees will be paid in three installments:
- Rs 200,000 with the application
- Rs 400,000 after the lottery
- The remaining balance before departure.
- Cost of Hajj: The total cost for Hajj will range from Rs 1.075 million to Rs 1.175 million, and a refund of Rs 100,000 will be issued soon.
Refund and Deduction Policies:
- No deductions will apply if money is withdrawn before the application deadline.
- After the lottery, Rs 50,000 will be deducted if the first installment is refunded.
- If the third installment is not paid, a deduction of Rs 200,000 will apply.
- If a pilgrim decides not to go after February 10, the remaining amount will not be refunded. However, if the applicant passes away, the deductions will not apply.
Special Quota for Overseas Pakistanis:
- A special quota of 5,000 seats will be reserved for overseas Pakistanis.
Health Restrictions:
- Pilgrims with serious or contagious illnesses will not be allowed to go this year.
Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain, who announced the policy, assured that efforts will be made to avoid any reduction in the quota. Additionally, any unused quota from the sponsored scheme will be transferred to general pilgrims.
Applicants are encouraged to apply early and follow the new payment guidelines to ensure a smooth Hajj experience in 2025.
