Pakistan Launches “Wear Mask” Campaign to Combat Rising Smog and Air Pollution

November 8, 2024 — Pakistan has officially launched the “Pakistan Wear Mask” campaign to tackle the growing issue of air pollution and smog across the country. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the worsening smog problem, particularly in Lahore, and highlight the importance of wearing masks to protect against harmful air quality.

Volunteers from the “Mil Kar” initiative have already begun distributing masks in Lahore and surrounding areas, with plans to expand the campaign to other communities nationwide in the coming weeks.

The campaign encourages individuals to take proactive steps to protect themselves and their families, especially during the smog season, when air pollution poses significant health risks.

Sayed Kashif Ahmed, Project Director of “Mil Kar,” emphasized that the campaign’s main objective is to educate the public on the adverse effects of air pollution and raise awareness about the importance of safeguarding public health and the environment.

As smog continues to be a serious environmental challenge in Pakistan, this initiative seeks to empower citizens to reduce their exposure to harmful pollutants and take responsibility for their well-being.
