Pakistan Announces Team for 4th T20 Blind Cricket World Cup

LAHORE, Nov 12 — The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) has announced the 16-member squad for the 4th T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, which will start on November 23 in Pakistan.

The team will be led by Nisar Ali, with Badr Munir as vice-captain. The squad includes players from different visually impaired categories:

  • B1 Category (completely blind): Zafar Iqbal, Mohammad Idrees Saleem, Mohammad Shahzaib, Fakhar Abbas, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Salman
  • B2 Category (partially blind): Babar Ali, Nematullah, Haroon Khan
  • B3 Category (least visually impaired): Mohammad Safdar, Kamran Akhtar, Akmal Hayat Nasir, Talha Iqbal, Matiullah

Mohammad Ayaz, Moeen Aslam, and Mohammad Rashid will be reserve players.

The official team staff includes:

  • Mohammad Jamil as Head Coach
  • Masood Jan as Assistant Coach
  • Malik Abrar Hussain as Team Manager
  • Naveed Hussain Abbasi as Assistant Manager
  • Tahir Mahmood Butt as Trainer

Seyed Sultan Shah, PBCC Chairman, confirmed that Pakistan would host the World Cup, whether or not the Indian team participates. He also said the team includes both experienced and new players who have shown strong performances in domestic tournaments.

Pakistan’s first match will be on November 23 against South Africa in Lahore. The team aims to perform well and live up to the nation’s expectations.
