Nvidia’s New AI Chips Overheating in Servers, Raising Concerns

Nov 17 – Nvidia’s new Blackwell AI chips are facing overheating issues when used in server racks designed to hold up to 72 chips, according to a report by The Information. The problem, which has already caused delays, is raising concerns among customers who worry that it may hinder the rollout of new data centers.

Nvidia has reportedly asked suppliers to revise the design of the server racks multiple times to address the overheating problem. Despite the setbacks, the company stated that “engineering iterations are normal and expected” as part of the development process and reassured that it is working closely with cloud service providers to resolve the issue.
