New York Judge Grants Trump Permission to Seek Dismissal of Hush Money Case
Nov 22 – A New York judge has granted former President Donald Trump permission to request the dismissal of his hush money criminal case, following his victory in the Nov. 5 U.S. presidential election.
Trump, 78, who had been scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 26, will now have the opportunity to argue that proceedings should be deferred until after his four-year presidential term begins on January 20. The decision comes after prosecutors from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office sought a delay in the case until Trump’s term is completed.
