Netanyahu Condemns Attack on Israeli Military Officers by Settlers in Hebron

Jerusalem, November 24, 2024 – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned a violent incident involving Jewish settlers who attacked senior Israeli military officers in the occupied West Bank. The attack occurred on Friday when settlers targeted Major General Avi Bluth, the head of the Israeli army’s Central Command, and other officers in the city of Hebron.

According to the Israeli military, a group of settlers followed Bluth and his team, blocked their exit, and verbally assaulted them. The army reported that five individuals involved in the incident were arrested following the confrontation.

Netanyahu expressed his strong disapproval of the attack, emphasizing the importance of respecting Israeli military personnel and maintaining order. The incident highlights the tensions between the Israeli army and hardline settler groups, who have frequently clashed with military officials over policies in the occupied territories.

This incident marks another chapter in the ongoing unrest in the West Bank, where settler violence has been a persistent issue.
