NEPRA Increases Electricity Price by Rs 1.75 per Unit, Cites Quarterly Adjustment
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved the hike in electricity price for the fourth quarter adjustment of the fiscal year 2023-24.
According to the announcement issued by Nepra, the increase in the price of electricity per unit has been approved by 1 rupee 75 paise.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority says that this quarterly adjustment will be charged in September, October and November bills. There will be an increase of Rs 0.82 in the bills due to quarterly adjustment.
On the other hand, a reduction of 37 paise per unit has also been approved for July monthly fuel charges adjustment. Nepra says that the relief of 37 paisa per unit reduction in electricity price will be given in September bills, June fuel charges. The adjustment was received in August bills with an increase of Rs 2.56 paise.
Nepra said that there will be a reduction of 2 rupees 93 paise in the September bills due to fuel price adjustment, adding both the adjustments, the consumers will get a relief of 2 rupees 11 paise per unit in the September bills.
