Moldova’s Election Commission Dismisses Officials Over Corruption Allegations Ahead of Run-Off Vote
Chisinau, Moldova – (By Reuters) Ahead of the presidential run-off vote on Sunday, Moldova’s Election Commission has announced the replacement of several officials accused of corruption.
Angela Caraman, the head of the commission, stated that multiple members of the election commissions—including chairpersons, secretaries, and clerks—are implicated in documents prepared by police and prosecutors. Some of these officials have already been removed from their positions.
The changes come as the country prepares for the critical second round of voting, emphasizing the commission’s commitment to ensuring a fair electoral process.
