Mirror Group Newspapers Faces 101 Phone-Hacking Lawsuits, Court Hears
LONDON – Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), the publisher behind the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, and Sunday People tabloids, is facing 101 lawsuits over alleged phone-hacking. Among the plaintiffs are prominent public figures, including actors Kate Winslet, Sean Bean, and Gillian Anderson, as well as the estate of late Australian cricketer Shane Warne, the High Court in London was told on Wednesday.
MGN, which is owned by Reach (RCH.L), has been embroiled in legal battles for over a decade related to phone hacking and other illegal methods of information gathering.
