McDonald’s in Crisis: E. Coli Outbreak from Quarter Pounder Leaves One Dead, Stock Crashes!
A dangerous E. Coli outbreak has been linked to McDonald’s Quarter Pounder burger, causing one death and making dozens of people sick across 10 U.S. states. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported that 49 people have fallen ill, with the most cases in Colorado and Nebraska.
Health officials believe contaminated onions used in the burger may be the cause. In response, McDonald’s has removed the Quarter Pounder from menus in affected areas and stopped using chopped onions.
Ten people have been hospitalized, including a child, and one elderly person in Colorado has died. The CDC and FDA are investigating the outbreak, while McDonald’s faces backlash, with its stock dropping by 8%. McDonald’s has promised to take quick action to ensure food safety.
