Maryam Nawaz Inaugurates Free Milk Program for Schoolchildren in DG Khan
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the school nutrition program in DG Khan, vowing to prioritize the nutritional needs of millions of children across the province. Addressing the ceremony, Nawaz emphasized her commitment to the welfare of children, stating, “These kids are VIPs to me.” The program aims to provide free milk to students up to class 5, with the CM ensuring its implementation without any corruption.
Nawaz highlighted the challenges faced by Pakistan’s limited resources but expressed optimism for a brighter future. She praised Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat’s efforts and outlined the government’s plans for teacher training, outsourcing of schools, and sports development.
The CM also called on other provinces to follow Punjab’s lead in launching similar initiatives, stating, “The children of other provinces are also my children.” Nawaz attributed the reduction in inflation in Punjab to the vision of Nawaz Sharif, citing decreased prices of flour, bread, and vegetables.
In an emotional appeal to the children, Nawaz urged them to love and work for the country’s security, saying, “You should stand up for the security of the country with every step.” The launch of the school nutrition program marks a significant milestone in the Punjab government’s efforts to prioritize education and nutrition.
