Mark Strong Portrays Unique Version of All-Powerful Ruler in Dune: Prophecy

JEDDAH, Nov 22 – The latest big-budget sci-fi series, Dune: Prophecy, takes viewers back to the vast universe of Frank Herbert’s Dune, but sets the stage 10,000 years before the events of the recent films featuring Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet. Streaming in the Middle East on OSN+, the HBO Max series explores the rise of the mysterious Bene Gesserit sisterhood.

British actor Mark Strong stars as Emperor Javicco Corrino, a powerful ruler at a chaotic moment in galactic history. Known for playing commanding characters, including the ruthless mob boss Carmine Falcone in Penguin, Strong notes that his portrayal of Emperor Corrino is distinct from typical depictions of all-powerful men in cinema.

In Dune: Prophecy, Strong brings a fresh, complex approach to the role, giving viewers a glimpse of an emperor navigating tumultuous times in a story set long before the famed Dune saga.
