Italy to Enforce Helmets and Insurance for E-Scooter Riders
ROME- Italy’s parliament approved a new bill on Wednesday requiring e-scooter riders to wear helmets and obtain insurance, as part of a broader overhaul of the country’s highway code. The law also introduces stricter fines for improper parking of e-scooters.
With e-scooter usage growing rapidly across Italy, the bill aims to address safety concerns following a rise in accidents and complaints from drivers and pedestrians about riders disregarding traffic rules. The new regulations are set to help improve road safety and ensure better accountability for riders.
