Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinians in Nablus and Hebron
West Bank, December 7, 2024 – A group of Israeli settlers launched attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, targeting villages in the Nablus and Hebron regions. The violence, which occurred on Thursday, saw settlers assaulting Palestinians, damaging property, and stealing livestock.
In the Yatta area, south of Hebron, settlers attacked a Palestinian family, severely damaging their home, breaking solar cells, and stealing dozens of sheep. Wafa News Agency reported that the settlers also physically assaulted the family. The attack, which targeted both their property and livestock, has caused significant distress to the affected Palestinian family.
Social media footage has since emerged showing other Israeli settlers storming a village south of Nablus. The video shows settlers, who were reportedly being protected by Israeli soldiers, engaging in violent raids on the village. This incident is one of several settler-led attacks that have been reported in the area on the same day.
These violent acts have raised concerns about the escalating tensions between Israeli settlers and Palestinians, particularly in areas where settlements are expanding. The presence of Israeli soldiers, who are seen accompanying settlers during these attacks, has further fueled anger and calls for accountability.
Local Palestinian communities have faced increasing pressure and violence from Israeli settlers in recent months, with incidents like these contributing to the already volatile situation in the occupied West Bank. The international community continues to call for measures to address settler violence and uphold the rights of Palestinians in the region.
Authorities have yet to release statements regarding the response to these attacks, but there are growing calls for an investigation and the protection of Palestinian civilians in these areas.
