Israeli Forces Seize Key Water Supplies, Stranding Palestinian Farms in Jordan Valley

West Bank – Israeli forces have seized water networks in the northern Jordan Valley, disrupting the irrigation of Palestinian farmland in the occupied West Bank. The seizure occurred in Khirbet al-Deir, where four water networks, linked to several local springs, were taken from Palestinian farmer Muhammad Fayez Daraghmeh.

The networks were crucial for irrigating crops in the area. Additionally, another farmer, Muhammad Sawafta, reported that Israeli forces also confiscated his water pumps and solar-powered systems, leaving his grape and corn fields without a water source.

Khirbet al-Deir, a border area previously cultivated by Palestinians, has been a frequent site of tensions. Last year, Israeli settlers, with military protection, also seized water resources in the region. This latest action further exacerbates concerns over water access and agricultural livelihoods in the West Bank.
