Israeli Attack Kills Two Lebanese Soldiers in South Lebanon
BEIRUT — The Lebanese army reported on Sunday that an Israeli attack in south Lebanon killed two Lebanese soldiers and wounded several others. The army said Israeli forces directly targeted their position in the town of Mari, in the Hasbaya area, where Israel is engaged in fighting with Hezbollah.
According to the Lebanese army, one soldier was killed and three others were injured, one critically, in the attack. A separate statement later confirmed that a second soldier had died from his injuries.
Since the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah escalated in September, Israeli attacks have killed more than a dozen Lebanese soldiers, according to official reports.
