Islamic Leaders Demand Immediate Ban on Arms Exports to Israel
Riyadh Summit’s official communiqué calls for halting arms exports to Israel to curb its aggressive policies. Leaders urged international backing for Palestine’s recognition and for barring Israel from UN activities. The statement condemned Israel’s Knesset decision to revoke UNRWA’s exemption and denounced Israeli aggression in Syria and Lebanon.
The Riyadh Summit also appealed for implementing the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion from July 19, 2024, which calls for ending Israeli occupation, addressing war impacts, and compensating affected parties.
The communiqué condemned Israel’s recent aggression against Palestinian civilians in Gaza and occupied territories, citing forced disappearances, and called on UN members to secure release and protection of missing persons. Additionally, it condemned abuse against children, women, and the elderly and called for transparent investigations to hold perpetrators accountable.
In Gaza, Israeli atrocities like mass graves and genocidal actions were strongly condemned. Leaders urged the UN Security Council to form an independent, credible committee to investigate forced disappearances, ethnic cleansing, and other crimes, and called for Lebanon’s sovereignty to be respected with immediate ceasefire and full enforcement of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
