Web Desk, November 03, 2024
Protests in Iran, initially sparked by the arrest and subsequent death of Mahsa Amini over dress code violations, have resurfaced following a recent incident at a university.
According to Reuters, a female student at an Iranian university staged a protest against the country’s stringent dress laws by removing her clothing on campus. A video of her semi-nude demonstration quickly went viral on social media.
In response, Iranian police arrested the student for serious violations of the country’s dress code regulations. Amir Mahboob, a university spokesperson, stated that the student underwent a medical check-up following her arrest, which confirmed her mental health issues.
Local media reports suggest that the student may be transferred to a psychiatric hospital for treatment. However, her identity has not been revealed, and her parents have not come forward.
On social media, Iranian users have expressed concerns that the government is deliberately hiding the truth behind the incident, emphasizing that the student was protesting against the country’s strict dress regulations.
