Imran Khan Calls for Protest on November 24
Islamabad, Pakistan – Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, announced that Imran Khan has called for a nationwide protest on November 24. He urged PTI leaders, workers, and all Pakistanis to join the protest.
Imran Khan, speaking from Adiala Jail with legal experts, said, “This is a crucial time for our party. Lawyers, civil society, farmers, and overseas Pakistanis must come out for their rights.”
He criticized the government, saying that Pakistan is now under a “de facto martial law” because of the 26th Constitutional Amendment. He called the government “bogus” and said it is worse than General Musharraf’s dictatorship. He added that the rule of law and democracy in Pakistan are being destroyed.
Imran Khan urged everyone to join the protest in Islamabad, which will continue until their demands are met. His three main demands are:
- Revoke the 26th Constitutional Amendment.
- Return the stolen election mandate.
- Release people detained without trial.
“If our demands aren’t met, the protest won’t end,” he said. He also mentioned that three people in military custody tried to commit suicide. He emphasized that the Constitution allows peaceful protests and called the recent elections a “huge fraud.”
The PTI leadership will lead the protest, and Imran Khan has given the party instructions on how to organize it. He also said Ali Amin Gandapur will join the convoy to Islamabad.
A committee has been set up to handle negotiations, but Imran Khan did not reveal its members’ names for safety reasons. He also urged overseas Pakistanis to join the protest on November 24.
