ICC Announces Schedule for Champions Trophy 2025
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially released the schedule for the Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament will take place from February 19 to March 9, with matches being held in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and the UAE.
Tournament Format
The Champions Trophy will feature eight teams, divided into two groups:
- Group A: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand.
- Group B: Australia, South Africa, Afghanistan, and England.
Key Matches
- Opening Match: Pakistan vs. New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi.
- Pakistan vs. India: The much-anticipated clash is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai.
- Pakistan’s Third Match: Against Bangladesh on February 27 at Rawalpindi Stadium.
Indian Team’s Matches
The Indian team will play all its matches in the UAE due to geopolitical considerations.
Knockout Stage
- First Semi-Final: Scheduled for March 4 in the UAE.
- Second Semi-Final: To be held on March 5 in Lahore.
- Final: The final match is set for March 9. It will be hosted in Lahore if India does not qualify; otherwise, it will be held in the UAE.
Reserve Days
Reserve days have been allocated for both semi-finals and the final to ensure smooth conduct of the knockout stage.
