In a move that’s set to pinch the pockets of potential car buyers, Hyundai Nishat has announced a price hike for its range of vehicles. The company cites increased shipping costs as the reason behind this decision.

According to sources, the prices of popular models like Elantra, Sonata, Tucson, and Porter have been increased. Here’s a breakdown of the new prices:

  • Elantra 2000 cc: Up by Rs 250,000 to Rs 7,180,000
  • Tucson GLS FWD: Up by Rs 150,000 to Rs 7,315,000
  • Tucson GLS AWD: Up by Rs 250,000 to Rs 8,280,000
  • Tucson Ultimate AWD: Up by Rs 250,000 to Rs 8,909,000
  • Sonata 2000 cc: Up by Rs 250,000 to Rs 10,229,000
  • Sonata 2500 cc: Up by Rs 275,000 to Rs 11,205,000
  • Porter High Deck (AC): Up by Rs 200,000 to Rs 4,389,000
  • Porter Flat Deck (AC): Up by Rs 200,000 to Rs 4,369,000
  • Porter Deckless (AC): Up by Rs 200,000 to Rs 4,349,000

The new prices will come into effect from October 1, 2024. This move is likely to impact sales, especially in a market where buyers are already reeling from high inflation and economic uncertainty.”
