Four Italian Soldiers Injured in Rocket Attack on UNIFIL Base in Southern Lebanon
ROME, Nov 22– Four Italian soldiers were lightly injured when two rockets exploded at a UNIFIL peacekeeping force base in southern Lebanon, the Italian government confirmed on Friday, condemning the attack.
The U.N. mission, known as UNIFIL, is stationed in southern Lebanon to monitor tensions and hostilities along the border with Israel. This region has seen escalating clashes in recent weeks between Israeli forces and Hezbollah fighters backed by Iran.
Italy’s government expressed its outrage over the incident, reaffirming its commitment to the peacekeeping mission despite the ongoing violence in the area.
