According to reports from Naji TV, Fakhar Zaman emphasized in his response that his remarks were in no way meant to undermine the PCB or any individual associated with it. He expressed that Babar Azam is not only a close friend but also a teammate, and his intent was to highlight Babar’s cricketing capabilities. Fakhar stated, “I believe Babar Azam should have been given a chance during challenging times, and my comments were purely in support of his cricket.”

Fakhar Zaman reiterated his loyalty to the PCB, noting that as a centrally contracted player receiving a salary, it is his duty to respect the board’s decisions.
