Fake Certificate Scandal Iqbal Javed Bajwa, Brother of Ex-Army Chief, Resigns from PIA
high-ranking official at Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has tendered his resignation after being embroiled in a fake certificate scandal. Iqbal Javed Bajwa, the brother of former Army Chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, stepped down from his position as Deputy Station Manager in Birmingham after an investigation revealed that his FA certificate was forged.
According to sources, Bajwa had been working at PIA since 1977 and had managed to secure a job posting in Britain in the late 1980s. He allegedly obtained British citizenship and continued to work for PIA, despite holding a fake certificate.
The scandal came to light on July 30, when PIA’s Finance Manager in Birmingham raised suspicions about Bajwa’s qualifications. An investigation was launched, and Bajwa was subsequently asked to resign after the Lahore Board confirmed that his FA certificate was indeed fake.
This development raises questions about the hiring practices at PIA and the influence of high-ranking officials in securing jobs for their relatives. The airline’s spokesperson has confirmed Bajwa’s resignation, stating that he was asked to step down after the fake certificate was exposed.
