Explore the Beauty, While Working Remotely: New Visa Program Announced
With remote work becoming the norm for many, people are looking to blend their jobs with travel. Recognizing this trend, Kenya’s President William Ruto recently announced a new program called the Digital Nomad Work Permit. This initiative is aimed at digital professionals, allowing them to live and work in Kenya while enjoying the country’s natural beauty and high quality of life.
The visa program is part of Kenya’s strategy to boost foreign investment and tourism. To qualify for the Digital Nomad Visa, applicants must meet several requirements. They need a valid passport, proof of employment from outside Kenya, evidence of accommodation within the country, and a clean criminal record. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum annual income of $53,922.
Details on the visa’s availability, duration, and fees are still unclear. Interested individuals can check for updates on the Kenya Directorate of Immigration Services website.
In addition to the digital nomad visa, the Kenyan government has announced that foreign visitors coming for tourism or business can stay visa-free for up to 90 days, further encouraging tourism in the country.
