DuckDuckGo Urges EU to Launch New Investigations into Google’s Compliance with Tech Rules
BRUSSELS: DuckDuckGo has called on the European Commission to initiate additional investigations into Google’s adherence to the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA). The privacy-focused search engine, which holds a small market share globally, claims that Google is not fully complying with the 2022 law designed to curb Big Tech’s dominance. Under the DMA, tech giants like Google are required to ensure users can easily switch to competitors and are prohibited from favoring their own services on their platforms.
