Dubai Police Arrest Internationally Wanted Businessman for Fraud and Match-Fixing

Dubai Police have arrested William Pereira Rogatto, a Brazilian businessman on Interpol’s Red Notice list, who is wanted for fraud and football match-fixing. The arrest was made after Rogatto was accused of manipulating football match results and using the altered outcomes to place illegal bets on international sports betting platforms.

According to Colonel Tariq Hilal Al Suwaidi, Director of the Wanted Persons Department at Dubai’s General Department of Criminal Investigations, the arrest is part of Dubai’s ongoing efforts to cooperate with global law enforcement agencies to tackle transnational crime.

Rogatto is believed to have exploited fixed football matches to gain significant illegal profits. His arrest underscores Dubai’s commitment to combating international organized crime and enhancing global security by sharing expertise with other law enforcement bodies.

This operation reflects Dubai’s strong stance on confronting criminal activities and reinforcing global safety through international collaboration.
