Dar’s Final Call: Pakistani Umpire Retires with Record-Breaking Legacy

Aleem Dar, the renowned Pakistani cricket umpire, has announced his retirement from professional umpiring after the Champions One-Day Cup 2024. With an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Dar has officiated in a record 448 international matches, including 145 Tests, 231 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and 72 T20 Internationals.

He’s known for his calm demeanor and sound decision-making, earning him respect globally. Dar was the first Pakistani umpire to be inducted into the ICC Elite Panel in 2004 and was named the world’s best umpire three times from 2009 to 2011 .
