“Crisis of Trust”: Netanyahu Removes Defence Minister Gallant Amid Rising Gaza Tensions

JERUSALEM, Nov 5 (Reuters) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on Tuesday, citing a “crisis of trust.” Gallant, who had been in office since early this year, was replaced by Israel Katz, the former foreign minister.

The dismissal comes as Israeli forces continue to intensify airstrikes in the Gaza Strip. Palestinian medics and media report at least 35 people have been killed since Monday night, as Israel issues new evacuation orders in northern Gaza.

The firing of Gallant marks a significant shift in Israel’s leadership amid ongoing military operations in Gaza.
