Court Denies Physical Remand for Drunken Female Driver in Karachi Car Accident Case
A significant development has emerged in the case of a drunken female driver involved in a fatal accident on Karsaz Road in Karachi. The court rejected the police’s request for physical remand and instead sent the accused, Natasha, to jail on judicial remand. According to details, Natasha was presented in the city court in connection with the car accident case. Amid tight security, Natasha was brought to court with her face covered. The police’s plea for a 14-day physical remand was rejected. The accused’s lawyer argued that the provisions against Natasha are bailable. However, the investigating officer informed the court that section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which pertains to murder, has been added to the case, making it non-bailable.
The plaintiff’s lawyer requested that the court determine what type of drug Natasha had consumed, leading to the deaths of two individuals. During the hearing, the court inquired about Natasha’s husband, to which she replied that his name is Danish. The court also asked if she had been subjected to torture by the police, and Natasha responded that she had not. Ultimately, the court sent Natasha to jail on judicial remand and directed the investigating officer to present a challan at the next hearing.
