China Sets the Pace for 6G Adoption, Globally

China has made significant strides in the development of 6G technology, introducing three new standards through the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The approval of these standards positions China as a frontrunner in the global race to deploy 6G technology.

The new standards, approved on July 26, focus on enhancing various aspects of 6G, including content transmission, data updates, and system performance testing. This development gives China a competitive edge in the 6G landscape, with East Asian countries leading the charge ahead of the US and Europe.

In a related breakthrough, China’s telecom engineers have successfully installed the world’s first 6G field test network, demonstrating a 10-fold improvement in coverage, efficiency, and other areas. This experimental network, developed by the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, will enable scientists to research and test various facets of 6G technology.

While details about 6G technology are still emerging, experts believe it will revolutionize holographic communication, transforming it from science fiction to reality. China’s aggressive pursuit of 6G technology underscores its ambition to dominate the next generation of mobile internet technology.
