Canada Denies Evidence Linking Indian PM Modi to Violence on Canadian Soil
OTTAWA, Nov 22 – Canada denied any evidence linking Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to violence on Canadian soil, following its recent expulsion of six Indian diplomats over their alleged involvement in a plot targeting Sikh separatists.
The Canadian foreign ministry had previously alleged that Amit Shah, the Indian home minister and considered the number two in Modi’s government, was behind a campaign of intimidation against Sikh activists in Canada. Ottawa also claims to have evidence linking Indian government agents to the 2023 murder of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada. However, Canada has not provided proof directly linking Modi to the violence.
